                                    A diphtheria

     Diphtheria - an acute infectious disease caused by the diphtheria bacilli . It is spread through direct and indirect contact with an infected person . Diphtheria bacilli secrete toxic substances affecting the tissues of the body , especially the nervous system and heart. Prolonged exposure to these substances can cause death. First of diphtheria was one of the most common fatal childhood diseases , but thanks to immunization she became a rare disease.

Symptoms
